I can still remember our first trip to Thailand. Destination Koh Thao. Koh means Island and Thao is Turtle. Koh THao got its name from its natural shape. It is referred because of its laid back lifestyle and exceptional PADI diving. It did not disappoint. It was easy, cheap and full of excitement. The island at the time was undeveloped, filled with hippies and the familiar vibe of any world class diving destination. Divers from all over the world gathered to see the magnificent Whale Sharks. I learned to drive a scooter and am proud to say that I successfully avoided the famous Thai Tattoo.
